Your Medicine Cabinet

A well-stocked medicine cabinet should have the following:

  1. Tylenol: for fever and pain. If you have any questions regarding the appropriate dosing of Acetaminophen (Tylenol) for your child please refer to the chart below, if you have additional questions please call the office.
  2. Ear pain drops: Please call the office and schedule an appointment, if appropriate we will be happy to prescribe ear drops for your child.
  3. Triple antibiotic ointment: for minor abrasions, bug bites, minor lacerations.
  4. Ibuprofen for fever and pain. If you have any questions regarding the appropriate dosing of Iburpofen (Advil or Motrin) for your child please refer to the chart below, if you have additional questions please call the office.
  5. Benadryl: for rash, itching - Before using Benadryl for your child we recomment that you please contact the office to speak with a nurse or a provider for appropriate use and dosing.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol or other brand): How much to give?

Give every 4-6 hours, as needed, no more than 5 times in 24 hours (unless directed to do otherwise by your healthcare provider).
