Maria was born in Colombia, but grew up in downstate New York. Maria received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from SUNY Albany in 2007. She went on to receive her Bachelors in Nursing from Utica College in 2017, and finally her Masters in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2019. She relocated to the capital region for her education, fell in love with the area and decided to make the Saratoga area her forever home. Maria is a fluent Spanish speaker, and looks forward to being able to help families who may not speak perfect English. Her passions in medicine include adolescent medicine, LGBTQ youth, and nutrition. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and is a member of the Nurse Practitioners Association. When not working, Maria is spending time with her husband and two young sons. She enjoys all outdoor activities including bike riding, hiking, and kayaking.
